Song: Billy Joel - Piano Man

Activity: In pairs or groups, students are given only one verse of the song. They are asked to discuss the lyrics and try to determine their meaning. They are then asked to draw a picture of the verse. Each group explains their picture and their group's interpretation of the lyrics. Then listen to the song asking the groups to listen for their verse. As an option all the groups can put their pictures in the correct order as the song plays.
